As we rapidly approach WrestleMania 29 the direction WWE has chose to go in becomes more clear. With that said all the companies major matches for the show have been cemented. Rock and John Cena in a rematch from last years main event will face off for the WWE title. The rematch ruins the idea of Once In A lifetime from last year but this is wrestling and matches always will have a rematch. Though in theory this is one of the bigger matches you could do to main event a WrestleMania. It is clear that with the talking of 2012 being the worst year for John Cena that he will win this match and reclaim the WWE title for the first time since 2011.
Then we have Triple H and Brock Lesnar in a rematch from their Summerslam 2012 match. Here things get more interesting as to who should win and who will win. Unlike Cena and Rock were it is clear that Cena avenges his loss from a year ago. This match it looks that it could go either way but who does this benefit more in the long term. WWE has more invested in Brock Lesnar going forward to WrestleMania 30 in 2014 then they do Triple H. Triple H is a management guy now more so than a wrestler. It makes sense for Triple H to get the win seeing Lesnar broke his arm in storyline twice in 2012, Broke Shawn Michaels arm in storyline also and recently attacked Vince McMahon. But from my understanding the company has big plans for Lesnar next year which makes it a smart choice to have him win to ensure he is protected for the future.
20- vs 400 Plus Days as WWE Champion two of the most impresive streaks in WWE at the moment. For CM Punk and Undertaker this is the first time since 2009 the two will have worked with each other. In that time Punk has established himself one of the top 3 guys in WWE curretly. Evert year Undertakers match generates a lot of buzz as to how his opponent will get into his head. The best example was in 2009 when Shawn Michaels played mind games with the deadman like Taker had done with so many of his opponents over the years. Most people know that Underaker is going to win the match but the best thing about the Taker match every year is how close each guy comes to ending the legendary streak. Unlike their prior feud in 2009 Punk is on a much closer level to Undertaker which makes this a better dynamic than it did back in the fall of 2009 were Punk was still seen as a mid card guy holding a world title. As now he is a legit main event guy.
